I am in China for a few weeks doing project work and I saw an Article about AGCO in the Shanghai news paper. It said that AGCO is building a new plant to manufacture up to 20,000 tractors per year and another plant to build baling and harvesting equipment in China. They said their initial investment would be $100 million US dollars. They also said that China would be AGCO's global sourcing and manufacturing base.
I wonder if that will shift volume from any of the US plants?

Let me guess. As a tribute to China's proud political heritage, AGCO has decided to paint this equipment RED.

I think their going to put Valtra over there with that 100 million. AGCO built a new headquarters for Europe in Switzerland a few years ago. They've made a ton of investments into Europe for factories and purchases. They continue to invest in Brazil by giving that country Valtra and Deutz Allis which I don't think is a global brand. In North America they.....Oh. Um. Yeah I guess they got a couple of warehouses where they put fenders and lights on tractors.

China is a big market. They need to have a plant there. All the other majors do. I would think a basic Valtra like Byron says.
I cannot really see them importing equipment from China to the NA market place though. I don't think that would fly. I don't mind gear being built in another country if it is a first world country.

I hate to tell you boys, but we have been sold out. We need to start a high tarriff on anything that comes over the border and tell the government to take NAFTA and shove it as far as the sun shines. Sorry if this in in the wrong catagory. Dave.
