I read hit and miss of people refering to sending things to china through out the forum. Is this an insult slang or literal? Seems that I am missing out on something. Any help?

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure what he was reading.

And the EPA has killed the steel industry in the US.

Remember come war time the country with the most steel usually wins.

Shameless, anymore, aircraft carriers are just big floating targets.  They are great for launching fighters and short range bombers in a show of force but they won't stand up to a couple missiles launched from hundreds of miles away.
The government gets some of the blame for the closing of steel mills but the cost of raw materials and energy take some of the blame, not to mention labor.  How little money would you take per hour to work in a plant that's 130+ degrees?

How true that is Tbran, and something ro consider in the days and years ahead! The spendthrift liberals(republican&democrat) that are selling us down the finanacial drain in the way of "freebies" for votes are seriously affecting our national defenses by weakening our economy. Every serviceman and woman has sworn an oath to "protect and defend" our nation and constitution, both foreign and domestic! It means exactly what it says as you read it!
You don't really have to be smart if you know who is!

I do not think anyone is "insulting" China with this reference, I'm one who has done it in past. China as we read and know is/has become one of the richest nations on earth, seems we owe them lots of $$, that said, they do things different then we do, more power to them. They send big boats here and haul our scrap away because there paying for it, that's how it works.

Look at it as tractors , as many parts now put into US made tractors are outsourced to China for the original forging or casting, then partially finished and sent here for final assembly. Looked at a JD commercial ZT mower and the front wheel assembly was made in china.
So scrap from the US is sent to china to make into steel which then is value added and returned to the US and used in products of US goods. Each step takes something of value and adds cost.
The British steel industry has been through regulation of air quality decimated and it's production has been sent to middle east where these regulations are not in place. Has it changed overall world air quality , NO just shifted where it is being introduced.
What has it to do with Tractors , it seems now most tractors are just assembled here and as those jobs will slowly be transfered for cost and regulations to the place of the lowest cost labor, soon we will be just consumers and not producers of much of anything.
Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

Fred,
I rather come down and waste your shop time and NOT buy anything. You should just GIVE me all your good B parts for staying away, so as you can make more money with the shop. Think it over and let me know.
