Nope, its WC sheet metal, just moved back, must have shortened the drive train up somewhere.  Seen a stock WC with the tube and shaft shortened between the tranny and rear end.  Not fond of the way it looks.

Well you start with a wrecked Mercedes and a junk WC and add to much time and money, and viola! It was a "project" and I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Uhm...

It may just be the angle, but it appears to have no transmission... and the suggestion that it has no PTO may reinforce that thought...  if that's the case... it'd be a pretty lousy machine to operate...

Not true. If you are a tractor puller, I'm sure she'd roll the coal pretty well.

Not a fan (black???, just looks...weird), and it is hard to see in the pic, but looks like the builder did a pretty good job sticking it all together.  Guess the battery location was an after thought.  Like to see some more pics out of curiosity.

You know I've been thinking about it, a WC diesel probably with an automatic transmission. If it wasn't three states away I'd go look at it. And if it wasn't a cobbled up mess I'd probably buy it.
Yes it would get repainted.

I like the concept. I believe a diesel WC would make an amazing puller. What one needs is a transmission out of a dump truck and probably a bigger rear end. Would not be stock but it would be cool to say your WC has over 200 horsepower(with a 12 valve Cummins). It seems a frame stretching may be in order. ;)

Well, if you're gonna put that much horsepower in there, you're gonna need taller tires to put the tractive effort to the dirt, and better change the wheels to something with more bolts....

So if you've changed the engine, transmisison, rearend, frame rails, and wheels/tires... there really ain't much left that's an Allis WC...

Back in my younger days as Pontiac fan, I wanted to shoehorn a Pontiac 455 V8 and auto trans into a WC and call it a WC 455. LOL
That Mercedes diesle wouldn't be powerhouse would it? I don't have a clue what the hp would be.

Back in the 70's we started with a junk WC and a 59 Plymouth. Stretched the frame, set the 318 with the pushbutton automatic in front of the tractor trainy. Dad made up a drive coupling and a lot of cuting and welding and it ran.
It was dangerous, fun and worthless. Hand brakes and rotton tires. But when your going down the road at 20 MPH and a car starts to go around you and you crack the throttle you get funny looks when the driver of the car can't get around you.
Hmm that sounded a little like something shameless would do.
Did i say it was fun?
The universal answer to all questions is yes, how much do you want to spend?

Why???
Because he has creativity.
Rather than the ones on here that just keep rebuilding the same engine and painting them with the same orange paint.
After awhile that get's real old and it's time to do something different.

And you guys would really love to have that one!!!

I almost put an engine from a 220D Mercedes on a JD 45 combine but someone bought the motor from me before I could make the switch.
A 5 cylinder 300SD Mercedes Turbo Diesel engine is a sweet motor.
