Am I the only one that does not like the way the posts are sorted? Why can't they be sorted in the order of the original post. Sorting by the "me too" posts seems stupid to me.
It is annoying and chaotic the way the posts are sorted now. There is no logical order.
I do not enjoy visiting the site as I used too.

The old forum had two ways of displaying the topics. The expanded way went by the latest topic would be on the top and you could work your way down the list which would stay in the order that they were entered. The other way was the collapsed display which worked basically like the new forum. The last entered reply would bring that topic to the top of the list. I do not like the current way it works as I liked to be able to get on and see the newest topics that were entered since I last checked in. Another dislike to the new forum is that items for sale or wanted to buy seem to get lost so easily. But I was thinking that a person could enter a for sale or wanted to buy and just keep bumping it to the top by replying every once in a while. One last statement...while there are things that I do not like about the new forum...it's still the best site on the internet and I thank Darin for keeping it going. Den

to me it is simple. The active posts are kept up front. So if I go to the last post and do a reply it will show up as first so all can see the new action.
Man I am hapy with that. The current stuff is u front.

I like the new way. I just read the new posts. I don't have to sift threw the ones I've already read.

And all that are new or have had comments since I last checked the page are in bold orange. If I have seen them or looked past them, they are not bold.

I'm color blind, had no idea they were different colors. Every time I go to the forum I hit new posts in the corner and everything that was added since I last looked comes up. I didn't like it at first but now it works well for me.

I like the new way also and I always used the collapsed activit mode on the old form. The other thing that you will notice is if you check the mark read post the arrow on unread posts will be yellow so a quick scan can tell you which are the new posts. There are also time, date and activity cues that will lead you to the new posts. This format is the way most forums are set up and far superior to the page after page of posts that rehash a current topic. One forum that I visit has a topic that stays near the top and has 60 some pages of posts. It's kinda like the morning coffee, it's always the same topic but has new additions without having 100 threads devoted to the same topic.

I agree with you Joe, there is no order to things now, I would like to see what everyone has on there mind and be able to search in a orderly fashon, I don't spend as much time here as I once did, ( I just can't get past the way it is set up ) New is not always improved, just my thoughts Thanks Ken.

Guess I'm one of the oddballs. I actually like this format better. The color coding is a breeze to use. You can look at the original posters name and date under the left column and know if it's new, or simply another input to an old post. Either way though, I can't Thank Darrin enough for keeping this site available to us. God Bless.

I think just click new posts, and you will see everything you haven't seen before. If you show up fairly regularly, the list won't be too long. I like it.

The current sort makes it hard to find a post that you want to look at again.
I am not interested in who said "me too" last.
There needs to be an alternate way to sort.
I have not figured out what the New Posts icon really does.

It will list the post in order of replys, newest reply at the top. If you're signed in, it will also show how many replys have been posted since you last read them with the bold face font. Probably should have a for sale section so they don't get lost in one day. All forums that I've been on, use this last post-first listed design.

I am ok with the way topics are listed, but when I hit my back button going from a post back to the forum topic list it always goes to the top of the page instead of where I left off. That is annoying.

Each time i go on here i find something new that I had not found before , from the spell check that I finally learned how to use to the little arrow on the lower right that brings me back to top of page that I just found this AM.
The for sale would be the one I see that is missing but wonder if a person put the ( $ ) sign into prefix of post if that would help to make it stand out.

To save the annoyance of going back to the top of the page, right click on the topic you go to and select "open in a new page" or "open in a new Tab". Then when you close the page or tab you go right back where you did not actually leave.

I both like and dislike the way it opperates.
The part that I dislike is when someone is looking for help when the site is busy. The question can be on page three or beyond in a very short time. Makes it hard to find the ideas expressed. |

How would you do it?
I signed in. It recognizes me every time I come here... I don't have to sign in again.
When I hit "new posts", it shows me all of the threads with new posts since the last time I've been here.... this site is reletively busy. I was surprised. I show up about twice a day and there's usually 2-3 pages of threads w new posts.
I think it's fine... pretty much like most of the other forums I've ever seen.
I could never figure out what was going on with the old site.

I have always disliked the new forum because I cannot just look through the latest posts until I come to the ones I have already seen. Quite frankly I have lose interest since this forum changed to the new format. Just my 2 cents worth. Royal

I have to agree with Joe, Dick L and Royal. The organization is lacking bigtime because the order is always resorted due to # of posts per thread. Thus, it is harder to look up older topics. On the old forum you could always guess about what page a certain thread may be located on. The prefixes to designate questions, for sale, wanted, and the like were great on the old forum.
What has happened with the show registry link? Has that been replaced with something on the new format?

I would also like to thank Darrin. I have already learned more than I would have ever learned any other way on this site. But I also agree with others and don't like the way the posts come up. I personally don't like it and don't come on here near as much as in the past. I know that nobody cares if I'm on here or not but I enjoyed the site much more when the posts were arranged the old way. Now when I get the time to get on here, it seems I'm always looking at the same old posts. As a point, I saw the pictures of the combine/pick up accident and was telling a friend, he wanted the pictures.....well, can't find them....waaayyy gone ! I guess I just don't have time to make this new site work for me. And I also would agree that several feel the same way. I used to see some names on here every day and now almost never see them. Please know,I'm not bashing, still a great site. Just doesn't work for me as well as the old site.

Bob, just go to the upper middle/right word search, click it and type in 'combine accident'. The post is right there to click on to see in total. If you play with it a bit, you're really gonna like it.

GBACBFan, Thanks that did work fine. Ya, I'm afraid I'm not giving this new site enough time. But thats the problem, I don't have as much time lately as I am working 12 to 14 hour days. Thanks again
