The lift on my D-17 will just start running lift on its own without mme even using it and nothing hooked to the tractor to be lifted . It only does this when the tractor comes under a load like pulling a drag disk etc. the lift arms come up own their own and when they are all the way up the pump just keeps pumping. The only way to stop it is to shut the tractor down and and restart and if you get it under a load it will do the same thing. Can some one help . Sorry for the long explaination.

Sounds like the traction booster linkage is a little tight or the linkage rod is bent.

It is supposed to do that if you are pulling a SC implement , but you should be able to shut it off by following the adjustments in the manual.

Put the traction booster lever all the way at the bottom of the quadrant. If it is and does it, something is bent or out of adjustment like John said.
