It appears that the factory installed (600w ?) block heater on the NEW 185 isn't warming up. Anybody know how to really check it or if a new one would be available someplace. I'm also a bit doubtful if 600 w is enough. the 180 has a 1500 w tank heater. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks

Check it with an ohm meter, should have some resistance between the spades on the plug, if it checks open then the heater is probably shot. also check for a good connection between the plug in and the heater prongs. A heater immersed in coolant is much more effective than a tank heater, 600w in the block should be enough.

Yes they are available at your dealer. I purchased one only a week ago. Around 80 bucks, just like the one that came in the tractor from the factory. The connection between the cord and the heater burned out.
