I m running a 1411 NH discbine on my 220 and its having trouble lifting it.  The tounge swings in and out with no trouble.  The header tilts up and down fine but I can hardly get it to lift the whole machine.   Is there any adjustment or is my pump only working half of what it should?

thanks for the help.  I need to post pics soon as well!

Have you tried switching the remotes to see if the problem moves or stays the same?Remote prssures are adjustable at the valve. If they need adjusted, or the pump us weak, or if you simply have too small a cylinder can only be determaned with a gauge and a service manual. Good thing is the pumps are  rebuildable in the average farm shop and parts are available both aftermarket and through AGCO. Read carefully before you start adjusting as there are several differant hydraulic systems on the 220 and adjustment proceedure varies with each one. If youhave the double pump it is also available new aftermarket.

First, you need to obtain a 3000 psi gauge and attach a Pioneer (or whatever ends you use) nipple to it. Plug it into any of the couplers on the back of the tractor and at half throttle or more, activate that outlet and make the hydraulics squeal.....you should have 2200 psi minimum and 2400 psi would be better.  If the lifting problem is only after the oil is good and hot, check it cold and recheck when oil is hot. Probably a bad relief valve, but until you plug in a gauge, it's all speculation.

Dr.Allis we put a guage on and the most we could get was 2200 psi at half throttle and wide open. Now where do we go?

If I was there, I'd adjust the pressure to 2400 psi and see what happens. Relief valve is located on the left front corner of the hyd valve stack with an acorn nut pointing towards the front. Also make sure the unit you are having difficulty lifting (NH1411 discbine?) is greased/oiled well in the axle lifting saddles for minimal friction.

Without a flow-rater GPM measuring tool we're guessing. I'd still try to adjust the relief valve  and see if it will even raise the pressure when hot. You may have a bad/leaking relief valve or a pump needing rebuilding.
