Finally had enough time to finish work on my new(to me) 6080. Just wanted to get it looking a little better. It will be a work tractor. A neighbor did the fiberglass work on the front grill. My nephew put the finishing touches on it. I painted it and the hood. I got the Deutz decals off the sides and polished them. Found a used seat suspension and got the seat working again. Thanks to Denny and my nephew for all the help. rrhead(SD)

I see new front tires too! Looks good! Your neighbor could make some side money repair grills for others. Mike

Much better! If you put some car wax on the fenders and side sheets, you might get them to look a little more orange too.
Remember, even working tractors can continue to look good with proper care.

I had to refiberglass the grills on the two we used at a nursery that shall remain nameless. It wasn't that they were built bad, but, the fact that if they even looked at an obstacle, they cracked, not a hard job, but, it kept me employed !!!

Gleaner1: All of these tractors built either had a cab or ROPS. For those that came with ROPS from the factory, MANY of them have been removed over the years by previous owners.
Nowadays it is more rare to see one that actually HAS the ROPS still on the tractor!

Not all 6080's had a cab or ROPS. Dad bought a 2wd 6080 new from Loveless in Washington, IA in 1981 without either, we just in the last 5 years found a factory ROPS for it because we put a disc mower on it. The 4 post factory ROPS makes it look good and I feel safer mowing road ditches with it and a seat belt
