Web Enterprises, Dayton VA, is not longer an AGCO dealer. I got a letter in the mail yesterday. I met the owner there and he was one of the smartest dealers I've ever met. He was pretty ticked at AGCO for not making different color tractors, (especially Oliver green), and that was just before AGCO dropped orange. I wonder what happened.

Last few years they have been hard to get Allis parts but in the past they have served our area well.
They sold a lot of AGCO's around here, not sure who will support AGCO now |

I can only imagine how hard that decision was for him. I just know how hard it was for Pop and me. It was the right one but I really wish there would have been another way we could have stayed.
I miss it every day. Good Luck! Bill Long

If Agco isn't careful, they're not going to have many dealers period.

The good folks at Web got pushed around quite a bit by AGCO during the "phase out" of Agco tractors, and I would be surprised if that didn't put a bad taste in their mouth. I haven't been down there in several months, but have seen in the newspaper that they were taken over by Binkley and Hurst who are big Case IH and McCormick dealers from Lititz Pennsylvania. They also handle some Agco products, but they're mainly known for red equipment. My personal feeling is that Binkley & Hurst is Agco's shill, especially since they are headquartered more than 200 miles away. There are very few other dealers of AGCO products left in this area, and they are probably begging for someone to front a large dealership. |

We lost two dealers close to here. I think Agco is making a huge mistake by making everything red. The local dealer said he told them that he could sell a lot more orange tractors than red ones but they never listen.

Hmm...I just ordered some plates for my #77 Allis planter from them yesterday. They have been taken over by Binkley & Hurst since the first of the year I believe. Since then they've added on to their showroom and had a new sunflower drill on the lot among other agco products. I was also told by hear-say that they were gonna have a gleaner on the lot at some point. But! things could change quickly I guess. -Wes

You wanna see alack of dealers, look at Indiana. Last time I looked there was a total of FOUR dealers for the whole state ! How can you have only 4 dealers in one of the largest agricultural states in the country ? Edited by Rfdeere - 12 May 2011 at 1:20am |

Is that just McAllister stores? What about Greentown? MI has four or five Gleaner stores, tons of MF though in recent years, would take awhile to count them all.

Rushville has two! Fraley and Laker. Within a mile or 2 of each other! That is some smart business plan!

A lot of money.
I have to agree with Brett, Binkley and Hurst are big Red people. I almost got a job at B&H as an intern, just never materialized I guess as I was busy with another job at the time, I was told its always there if I'm interested though... Luckily even though Binkley and Hurst is a strong Red dealer, we have MM Weavers which are very strong AGCO people...although they tend to lean to the massey side of things...oh well. Also have Alvin Martin who can get AGCO parts just up the road from Binkley and Hurst...He bleeds orange more then anyone I know! State Pulling Champ for years with a D-21.

Morton - Weavers ??LEAN?? toward Massey?????
I thought they would tip over if you pulled that line out of there. Weaver was always about as red as you can get, we done a lot of business with them over the years, as Dad became a "Massey Farm" once all us kids were gone and he needed bigger equipment than we had on the "Ford Farm" that I grew up on....

Macallister is Cat to the bone. They dont want to have anything to do with non yellow equipment. So that really only leaves about 4 dealers that are interested in really helping.

I called them last fall for parts for my B, "sorry but we can no longer get Allis parts" was the reply I got. Dad needed an air filter for the 6060 and got the same reply. |
