I was going to split a little wood last evening so I back the 7050 out of the shed so I could get the 190 out with the splitter. I figured I would just split enough wood for the weekend so I left the 7050 running at about 1000 rpm. That way it would warm up to temp. After splitting a small pile I thought I should run over to Dad's to split him some wood too but I forgot I had the 7050 still running. I split wood for Dad and then sat in his house for awhile to chat. Then I remembered I still had the 7050 running. For over 2 hours at idle. So I went home to put it away but I thought the turbo sounded unusually high pitched and the engine was surging about 200 rpms. What happened? I'm thinking my turbo might be puking. There wasn't any smoke but it wasn't under any kind of load either. I put it away for now.

I would pull the intake pipe(the one that goes to the manifold) and see if there is any oil. If not put it under a quick load and see if it builds boost

I really don't think the idling did anything either but I think something might have gone a-rye by coincidence. Will check it out this morning.

I was cultivating corn with A WD45 diesel on a Friday morning. Once we started the diesel in the morning we always let it run all day. I walked a quarter mile in for lunch and while I ate it rained, it rained again on Saturday. We never worked on Sundays back then, so Monday afternoon when we figured it was dry enough to continue cultivating I went back out. the tractor was still running, but getting low on fuel. When I went in for fuel, Dad asked why because I had just fueled up Friday morning. I told him it had idled all week end, he laughed and said open it up to half throttle while you add fuel, then we'll change the oil. No damage that we could find, but the oil was a bit thin.

If your oil pressure is good at idle, your turbo bearings should be OK, but there could be some carbon in the turbo. You could just put the tractor under a good load and get lucky. Or you could pull the turbo and manifold and check for carbon.
Changing the oil would be a good idea to get rid of the likely fuel dilution that has occurred. |

Just an update but a couple days later I ran it down the road to my uncles (about 12 miles round trip) and it ran fine. No problems since and has been in the field steady for three days.
