Here in Louisville Ky. area, my lower pastures have been under several feet of water for going on 6 weeks and the rain just wont stop. Was going to plow and replant for the first time in my life but maybe the water will kill off those awful wild rose vines that have taken over. We bought this place two years ago and it had lain fallow for many years.

Haven't even put planter on tractor yet. At least 10 days until field conditions would permit any planter work.

There are a few guys that started around here Wednesday the 13th. One guy has over 300 acres in and it's been cold and raining since the 14th. I think he'll be replanting most of that. If the wind blows and the sun comes out, we might see field work before the end of next week again.

Yes, that is quite a planting rig, Mike. How many acres can you cover in a day with that outfit? As far as planting goes around here, nothing done yet. If we don't get any more moisture, maybe end of next week we'll be going. Not so much row crop in my area, mostly wheat country. Corn acres are picking up, though, and probably alot of sunflowers will go in. Even most of the corn and flowers are put in with no-till air drills rather than a planter. I do still use a planter for mine, though. Darrel

That planter reminds me of a rig I saw in 1977 at Norris Farms below Lewistown,Il. They had tandem 4630's with 2-12 row planters ganged up behind. JD brought a 12 row head out that fall and couldn't get through the ruts made when planting. They went over to my landlords property and ran the 12 row head on a 7700 combine for him.

Everything here is mud. We had severe flooding last weekend and lots of rain this week. We can't even get on any ground to spread manure. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon. Can't wait to get in the fields.

I chisel plowed about 100 acres yesterday but had a good inch of rain last night. Going to get the planter and sprayer ready tomorrow and Monday should finish them both off if I have all the parts I need, that is.

I put my "practice planting" of sweet corn in a week and a half ago. Usually try to get that in early so I can then a month later when it doesn't come up, re-work the ground and put the real first planting in.

I chiseled about 1/2 acre today. Only spot dry enough yet. Record rain last week, this week was dry but the rain starts again tomorrow. Only people plowing have tracks on their tractors |

Nobody has been in a field yet around here. Two inches of rain last week, and rain predicted all next week. Sugar beets and corn will be late this year.

Too much rain here. Haven't turned a wheel yet. A week and a half ago I saw one guy digging and a few applying chemicals but that's it.

Must have been prototypes cause Deere didn't come out with a 12 row head until 1980 or 81. Gleaner had the first 12 row that I knew of and that was about 79 -80.

Too old and wet here. Haven't even seedind alfalfa yet. Looks like we might seed after may 1st, usually would be 1/4-1/2 done with orn by then. Just bought a 16 row White 6100, and still have the 8 row 6100. May have to run both if it ever warms up. I'm worried it will be like 2009 with no heat units and alot of drying costs.
