they are great tractors, we have a two wheel drive with a loader on it , it moves round bales, runs our square baler, very handy general purpose tractor ,we have plug it in when it gets cooler, be sure that you put ,if it does not have one ,a thrust bearing and bracket on the flywheel pulley out front of the engine

I agree, they are a good little tractor. I have one with 4400 hours and has been dependable with a few minor problems. They are good on fuel as stated by others. My biggest complaints are reverse high range is ridiculously fast (useless), cold blooded diesel needs to be plugged in if temp is below 40 degrees, and there are a lot of safety switches that act up at times. All these things are minor and once she's running you forget all about them.

ky Wonder You'll find not everyone on here is a smart *ss.I've had on for 10 years and it's been a good tractor.Does have the issues that other members have stated. The most important one is the issue with the thrust bearing.Make sure it's been taken care of and you'll like it.BStone

okay i must admit i am flustered (confused) about the thrust bearing/flywheel item,
i so far have just driven my 6060 3 miles home,
i have it parked in the barn awaiting the operators manual that i bought off ebay. and a new set of alliance 18.4x28's that i have ordered for it.
so i will be sure to read up on this thrust bearing fix with these tractors
the little tractor runs good now, it has 2900 hours on it, the guy who died, had it broken apart last year to put in a new clutch, and discovered it was a cable issue instead of the clutch, but he went ahead and put the new clutch in anyway,
so other than needing tires (road wear) it should be a decent tractor, i got it for a winning bid of $4100, the new 8 ply alliances tires are going to cost me $1150, So i feel i will be allright on the tractor with a investment of $5250 Edited by ky wonder - 19 Apr 2011 at 10:42pm |

well i figured there was some decent folks who owned orange tractors, while i admit i am not the sharpest knife in the drawer , i do know that the flywheel is on the back side of the enjine not the front.
but if it gets a chuckle, i dont care, i am just a slow talking ky hillbilly, and i am used to it.
but with my 8th grade education, i feel like i have done pretty good for my self, healthy children and grand children, over 500 hundred acres. of ky farmland, 4 late model vehicles, 4 good tarctors, two homes, a valubale coin and gun collection, and zero, Debt.
while i aint and never will be a donald trump, i am happy with what the good Lord has blessed me with
