Well guys, here are a few pictures of my 180 after some work I did to it this winter. I had the injection pump rebuilt, replaced the axle knees, fixed the PTO, replaced dash and cowling, and added new tires up front. I also bought the correct style grille for it from Oldoug, and sold my other one which was for a 185. Its not fully restored, but in the future it will be, as for now its gonna be a working tractor.

Don't look like it needs "restored". If the mechanicals are good, the rest is great.

Really nice to see an original muffler instead of those after-market cheapies that have the small outlet.

Glad the grille worked out for ya, did you get the latches unstuck by chance? The One-Eighty looks great also!!!

I did get the latches unstuck, took a little heat to em. I ended up painting the outside of the grille just lightly to brighten it up. It is a little brighter than the rest of the tractor, but not bad.

I bought a decent, not great 180 a few months ago. I have been buying all my parts before I start to clean it up. Gauges, alternator and drive, tach, tie rods, seat, incorrect muffler (I did not know), rear tires (another story!) ect. I will gut the wiring and build an new harness. Does anyone know if an after market harness is available?
I have fixed all but two hydraulic leaks. One is a lift cylinder (going to pack both) and the steering cylinder. Then the only issue is the Power Director, I am having pressure issues. Once I finish these two problems, I will strip and paint. Heck, I may even get the correct muffler and put the pre-cleaner in the correct hole.
Here is the auction pictures. |

I forgot to mention that your 180 looks sharp! It will be a while before mine looks anywhere near that good. Heck, you started off with a better looking machine. Mine will be a working tractor too!

Mine is one of the last year made by serial, takes a beating from me but works hard, I do intend to clean and baby it next year after the shop gets built and I get another tractor to work along side it.

i have to agree with every one else thats a fine looking tractor im my opinion you just cant beat the 180 we had one when we were still farming it was a great all around tractor for a 40 cow herd and 200 acers. (along with the 6060 4wd) the 180 is one id like to add to my collection some day!!

Looks good as is but if you want to paint it then paint it. It does feel good to drive a nicely painted tractor but I'd also use it as you normally would so it gets all the lived in look too. That's why they are here.

Im pretty sure the cowling is supposed to be orange, my old bent up one was orange, but the replacement I got from Hietman salvage was black and was labeled 180. I added a new coat of black because I like the black better. Im pretty sure 180's were orange, and 185's were black.
