Father purchase a new WF in 1945 to operate the new 1945 Allcrop 60 with bagger attachment. We have a 1949 WF that we purchased July 1995 just a few days before father had a stroke and pass away but he got to see the WF. Also remember sitting on the battery box on the WF riding around with father while he was baling hay or straw with the new 1950 rotobaler . |

I have a 1937 WF#219 I bought to restore. It doesn't look like I will ever get to it so I've been thinking of putting it up for sale. :(
Too many PM's. If you want to ask about it, email is open. Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 16 Apr 2011 at 10:34pm |

I was just thinking about that today as a matter of fact. How tough is it to put together a WF from a WC. I like the styled version. I know a guy who has a pair of frame rails and a rear end from a WC. Wonder who that is Big Al? LOL!
I understand the steering is different from the WC along with the front axle. Anything else different? I think the styled WF's are pretty cool. Though it would be fun to build one from a WC... Like I don't have enough projects now that aren't finished.... Steve@B&B |

i too own a 49 in the someday restore process but i have a question. In the before picture it shows a nice new battery bracket. In that position do you have to move the fuel tank to get the battery in and out? i did so ireveresed the bracket the side of my box is removable so the battery slides right in and out. I have never seen a decent picture of what the original battery box bracket goes of looks like AAny ideas TMan

Have a styled and unstyled models. Believe the side rails are several inches shorter and the differential is more narrow. |

Tractorman, I loosen the bolts that hold the box to the frame and it tips out enough to remove the battery if needed.

Steve: there are a lot of differences. Rear end housing is quite a bit narrower. Front axle and wheels are different. Steering column and box are different. They are quite common in my area. Local wrecking yard has 4 or 5 in there. They come up for sale fairly often around here. Maybe you need to do a road trip!LOL

Phil,
I see quite a few for sale up there where you are. Haven't seen any around this neck of the woods. Would be nice to find a styled WF closer to me. Anybody close to New Joisey that has a decent styled WF for sale? Let me know....... Steve@B&B |
