Why does a C have a clutch lock and no brake locks. Just curious.

They do have brake locks. Located where the linkage enter the rear end housing. They are cam locks. The clutch lock is use for stationary PTO use and is handy when hand cranking the engine when tempratures are cold and transmission oil is thick.

Would someone have a pic of the locks? I have nothing. As is normal more missing parts. I will show you what I have. I don't know why my frame is cut out either. Does anyone have the brake locks.uploads/375/P1010052.JPG

The arm should sit on top of the framework. The cam goes on the rod and rests on the top of the framework holding the arm up and keeps tension on the brake bands. Maybe somebody has a picture. I don't have a digital camera at this point...long story.

Since someone cut out the frame rail where you locks would rest I do'nt think they'll do you any good. I'll Try to get a picture this afternoon. My C is still in winter storage so I need to move a couple things to get to it.

Looks like it may have originally been a hand brake C.

The C is a 1947. I think more than one thing was farmerized on it. Now I understand how the cams would work. Thanks for all the help. I think I will go without locks. Mike
