Only problem is, If you blow it up, you don't just throw a rod or crack a block, you take the whole county with you.

I doubt there was any issue of "blowing it up". The fuel was LP gas. Hydrogen wasn't stored anywhere. You would probably have a harder time blowing up a one room school house with this than with the gas tank off a D14.
The problem with it was the cost of building the fuel cells. Now General Motors claims they will be the first to use this "new" technology.

sign me up i will take one keep it under 100k and give it a second gear. i really do love the fuel cell thing. also like the stirling or hot air engines.
