question now that Charlie's got me thinking! lol What was the first year the WD came out of the factory with a distributor, coil, points and batery replacing the magneto? I seem to remember as a youngster the dealer coming up to do the upgrade...and next month I will be 58, so maybe when our tractor was converted it may have been around 1960. Also my granddad may not have had the conversion done when it first apperaed...As usual thanks!

I have seen late style transmission on tractors with Magneto...so I don't think that change was simultaneous.

So if 53 was the first distributor for a WD, would that have followed with the B and CA at the same time? Dad didn't remember a magneto on his CA but it's a 1951. It has had a distributor as long as I can remember and I'm 18 days older than the Captain.
