I replaced clutch facings and springs, along with oil seals last winter because clutch was slipping badly. The following spring I raked hay and even ran a square baler with the CA; everything worked fine. Last week I got a SC plow for it and I hooked it up and plowed my garden. Clutch slipped a little, so I adjusted the release off a bit. It seemed to work fine. Yesterday, I went to plow another garden, and the clutch was slipping badly. The tractor wouldn't even drive up the trailer ramps.
Any thoughts? Oil contamination? Is there any way to dry one out? With any luck I'll have it apart today. Thanks-Morgan.

Post pictures and what you find when it is apart, In the past, AGCO's lining material was lousy, don't know if they have improved it or not, but i doubt that would be the problem this early on, unless it was improperly adjusted and caused premature wear??

I have read on this forum about grinding the "ears" down so there is clearance when the clutch is compressed. I can't find the post doing a search, but I believe there is a post that goes into detail about this procedure.

Apoligize for hijacking on this post; but am looking for a rebuildable hand clutch for a CA. PM me if you can provide one.

OK, it looks like the six allen head screws holding the housing to the pressure plate on one side were loose, one had fallen out. The facing is worn, but how do I tell if it is worn out or not? Do you all use lock tite on the screws? Thanks-Morgan
