I have a 1939 Allis Chalmers B that a guy is wanting to buy, I am new to Allis Chalmers and have no idea what to ask for it, it was a parts tractor for another one I have. Tractor does not run, motor is not stuck turns freely, tires will hold air but will need replaceing, has no seat, starter,or mag. All sheet metal is there and in food shape nothing but surface rust on hood and grill, few small holes in fenders. Can anybody tell me about what this would be worth.  Thanks

I payed 575 delivered for my '39. Engine wasn't stuck, tires hold air but aren't pretty, hand start, and it was complete. It also has the plow drawbar on it. Not a very original tractor, but I did get it to start soon after buying it. If I were you, I think I'd ask 500 for your tractor.

Here's a picture to give you an idea of the condition:

Sorry for the cat picture again but it's the best one I've got.

Kind of a loaded question. If a guy went and bought new tires,a mag, starter and a seat, he could have more into it than what he could buy a running complete tractor. On the other hand, if if a guy needed parts like sheet metal or an engine to rebuild, he might pay several hundred for those things. I don't know the market in your area but it could be worth 2-3 hundred, maybe more if the rims are in good shape.

I have never payed more than $200 for a parts tractor like that but I am known to be cheap. If the guy wanting to buy it is a friend, you might be willing to make him a deal.
Engine is probably worth $50-$100, good sheet metal can bring around $50 each on eBay. Do you want it gone, or don't you care. That makes a difference on how much you ask.
