A guy here in my town was selling a tractor called a FarmPro. I think they were Korean built. . He quit selling them about a year later because too many were coming back to him with problems.

I'm thinking they are made in China, and they are junk.

My FIL has a Hudson(same as Farm Tec and the other imports) and he has had trouble with the hydrualic pump and alternator and the top link hits the back of the seat. for the price you can find a good used tractor that will still be working years after the imports go back to china in a box.

Nortrac's had a problem with their loader tractors breaking frames in half. I think they corrected it. They also had a problem with the clutch wearing out in tractors with shuttle shift mut this is common with Kubota and John Deere aswell.

Rural King was selling the farm pro tractors or (farm something). They were leaking oil in more than one spot brandnew and the castings had alot of nonfill. the ones that sat outside for a couple years the paint faded really bad. They were made in china according to the sales people. Imagine trying to get parts for them.

I haven't bought a lemon tractor as of yet but I am storing BIL's FarmTrac 35 for him. So far it is doing fine but from what I have read about them they have had numerous problems. Parts are expensive if you can find them. So are the service manuals. It is a copy of an older Ford design made in India.

Any tractor sold at any of the big chain stores are junk. Even if you do end up getting a good one you won't get any parts or service support when you need it.
It always blows my mind why anybody would spend 10K on one of these junk tractors when they can buy a better used tractor for half the money.

was at a consignment sale last month, there was a brand new const front end loader there with just a few hours on it. by a few in mean less than 10. was a 2009 model, the brand name i can't remember, the owners manual was in it, but no one could read it! some foreign print. it looked nice, looked strong, but coudn't even tell what engine was in it. dunno if it sold or not, didn't stay that long. but have never seen that brand even on the web. dunno where it came from. no dealers name stickers on it anywhere.

All you gotta do for parts is buy an extra tractor. My oldest brother bought one of those 5000 series green tractors several years ago. All the broken miss fitting parts were fixed or replaced by the end of the second year so it works OK now. He was wishing he had his 1650 Oli back while the new one spent so much time in the shop. |
