I'm consider buying a used 3 pt snowblower - at least 6.5 foot. Any advice on brands, single stage, two stage, anything else? We live in West Michigan and get a fair amount of lake effect snow and had about 36" of snow in February! I'm tired of scooping snow with the little bucket loader on our D17! Mitch & Barb in West MI

this is my snowblower a 8ft mckee I love the twin auger for cutting into snowbanks. Just make sure you tractor will go slow and had the power to run the blower. The 8ft is too big for the 160 but the price was right. I just have to take small cuts into the snow.

I purchased a McKee Snolander this past summer. It is 7 1/2 feet wide. I was hoping that just owning a snowblower would help keep the snow away. Wrong. I still had more snow than I really wanted. This is an old timer, but it seems to work fairly well. The operator has a few things to learn yet, however!

I was a little surprised at how much power a snowblower can use. This is on my 7050. There is nothing wrong with the way the 7050 has been running, but the blower can just about bring her to her knees!
EDIT=I just reread this last sentence. You know out of context, parts of that sentence could really be interpreted wrong.

A single stage snow thrower is useless in wet snow in the late spring. You want two stages and you need to be able to back at a crawl or slower or you wear down the tractor's clutch a lot, other wise you put more snow in than the tractor power can throw.

 Untill this year I used a single stage pull type erskine. It worked great untill I sucked up a Hitch pin and bent the fan. I bought an international 6'6" two stage this winter. I would not go any bigger. My tractor front gets very light when its up. snow blowers use alot of power.

I have a 6' Farmhand 2 stage behind my D17 SeriesIV. It has a hydraulic directed chute and moves a lot of snow far, far away. Last winter it was behind my D14. The D17 runs it better and have to use the hand clutch less than with the D14.
Now, if I could only mount it on the front, cost effectively that is.

I have a 7 foot McKee Sno lander 2 stage on my 6060 and it works great. The old McKee's are built heavy, they also made blowers for John Deere.

I've got a 7' Lorenz behind my D17 Series 1. Works good, I put a big round mirror up on the loader frame to save my neck - with no PS it is a contest between the hand clutch, steering and craning yer heed around. I put up markers on my long driveway and use the mirror. According to Lorenz the D17 is a bit big for this blower, it was made for smaller tractors. Works good though.

I know it's only a garden tractor but I have a single stage on my 917 w/hydro, it will move any type of snow even water.

I've also been considering a snowblower for my 200. Would it handle a 7.5 or 8 ft snowblower? When blowing extra heavy snow, could you just use the power director and go between Neutral and Low? I already have a loader using all the hyd outlets so I assume I'd need a diverter/splitter type thing. Any feedback on a set-up for a 200 would be appreciated
