Disc tiller plow, needing new home, would look cool behind someones D-series, offers around scrap iron price entertained, "roll" right over the rocks!, have all parts available, needs some finish work on trailing wheel.

Yes, that is an allis one bottom on steel plow. Usually its easy to tell if its an allis, they have the lugs on the drive wheel.

John, I would give Sandy Lake Imp. a call, they are on this forum and can point you in the right direction. They did not have any shares for my plow but gave me a list of dealers from their inventory database that had NOS left. They do not make new parts for these plows anymore so it's a matter of tracking down NOS parts from different places.

John, first you have to identify the bottom, there were several used on the 50,60,70, and 80 series bottoms. To do that you need to find a part number on the share, moldboard, frog, maybe the shin or the landside. Landsides are more universal than most of the other parts. And there were as many as a couple dozen different shares used for different ground characteristics (rocky or not rocky, etc) and plow widths. A 53 could use bottoms of 12, 14, or 16" probably. Plow bottoms are in a separate book from plow frames.

Does this apply to the slat bottoms? We have a model 83 that needs new shares, landslides, and a couple of slats. Am I going to be hunting down NOS or be SOL? Hurst |

Hurst, I had a #73 with slat bottoms and I tracked down 3 NOS shares fairly easily. Price depends on dealer but they were only about $15-20 apiece. The 83 being a bit newer I would think parts would be a bit more common.

53, 63, 73, and 83 were the SAME vintage. Bottoms varied differently. The different plow models had different options.
It still takes identifying the bottom independent of the plow frame to find parts. Gerald J. |
