Here's another tractor that I ran across yesterday. The serial # shows it to be a 1939 model B. It's in rough shape as you can see, but the metal looks good on it. The exhaust was never covered and the manifold is rusted out, engine seized, and the cap on the fuel tank was left off...not sure if it's salvageable or not. I made the guy an offer, not sure if he'll take it or not. I know he's ready to get it out of there....it's probably been in the same spot for 25+ years. Anyone in need of parts for one this old??

It looks like it's got the arched adjustable front end under it, probably worth more than the tractor is as a whole. Those used to be pretty rare, but it seems as of late that more and more people have got ahold of them. |

If it is an arched adjustable that is worth something.
Hoods and grills are always worth something.

It appears to be an adjustable wide front if you blow up the pic and zoom to the front. Looks like I can see the axle on the inside of the right front. Tim

I'm thinking I might see a gasoline starting tank on the other side of the oil cap too. Wonder if it might be salvageable? May be worth something, if only in peices. Looks like most of it's there.

I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me!

If it has a Gimmer steering gear box and it doesn't have more than 1/4 turn of the steering wheel of slop, I'll take it.

I notice it is also a non PTO model. Interesting they would buy one with an adjustable front but no PTO, guess they didn't want to spend the extra $35. If the block is ok, I would restore it, IF it were mine.

You know I just hate to see a tractor - especially my favorate - parted out. They don't make them anymore - exception being Build a B - and they are part of history.
However, using it to save others can't be all that bad. Just hurts to see another go.
Best wishes on 1. getting the tactor, and 2 on your decision when you get it.
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck!

After thinking about it, I have to agree with those who want to see it restored. Before you start parting it out, yank the head and see how bad it looks. It's got more original parts on it than my '39 that I'm restoring does!

It appears to have a covered steering wheel. Is that a factory SW?
