Okay guys,

have not posted on here since the old forum was goin.  have a brown belly 7040, dad bought 10 years ago, was being used by neighbors this summer, oil plug came out.  seized her up, pulled pan and head today, #4 bearing is cooked to the crank.  i have a 80 N6  motor,  will that crank work or am i looking for another crank.  or can i have this crank turned i wonder?   dont really want to get rid of her,  for some dumb reason i like that tractor.  brother works for local agco dealer so i can get engine kit from him at good price.  just wonderin what to do with the crank.
thanks,
idaho dry

Do not use the old crank...N6 crank will fit.....probably throw away the bad rod and have others checked for cracks and re-sized......new rod bolts are a must.....make sure all main caps fit snug in the block and don't fall out.

I wouldn't be surprised either, but sometimes a guy gets lucky.
