Here are the 2010 Agco numbers:
 
 
Look at the graph on page 3.
 
NA squeaked a modest gain in sales for the year thanks to a very good 4th quarter...Europe, which supposedly loves MF, finished in the red for the year.  SA saved AGCO's bacon for the year.
 
I love this piece of propaganda:

LOL! you call the modest 3.2% NA increase a "high level???"...Granted the 4th qtr was very good..but that dont make a year. 
 
They better hope SA stays hot for 2011 or they will be in trouble...

You do realize that AGCO's major strength in NA is hay equipment and that segment of the market is very soft right now.  There are a lot of hesston big square balers around here (Southern Alberta) and it has been a few years since I have seen a new one.  That does have an significant effect on AGCO results in NA.

I really think the super sevens were their bright spot. If an equipment company can't turn a huge profit in this kind of a climate, they might want to take a good, long look at their C.E.O. and management. Maybe they are making some poor management decisions?
If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!

Redline, you are being cruel and just not understanding of the fuhrer, er I mean, the CEO of AGCO.  He wouldn't make any decisions that would hurt sales in NA!   LOL, LOL, LOL!!!!!

Once again, How do we need to educate if the numbers don't speak for themselves. CNH NA numbers for 4th Q were up 14%, I didn't look at Deeres, but I would expect similar or even higher. AGCO's NA tractor sales were up 5% for year (likely due to rush for last of Orange) and combine sales were up 9% in 4Q - we know that was clearly due to Gleaner. As Tom clearly stated, these are not good numbers in this kind of market which is super hot!
 
I recently had a booth at a local County farm show and next to my booth was a large COOP that also has a facility in our community. Since I also sell grain at this facility, I knew the folks working the booth. I asked if they had any new improvements coming in 2011 since they have been installing new legs, weigh stations etc. recently. His comment was the main thing going this spring is to complete the transition from AgChem sprayers to all Deere. This comment was unsolicited and I think is representative of what is going on across the country. Wait until that new axial "joke" is released next summer to a large fanfare of internal supporters. My guess is it won't sell.

I cant wait to see what their sale are at the end of this year in NA, its kinda funny how it hay equipment had a decline in sales. Maybe it was the name and color they put on those products. My dealer hasnt sold a MF red baler has four that have been setting on hte lot for 8 months, he sells them brownish one with AGCO before the other ones.

At 23 grand for a new one, I don't know how many people are going to buy one if you can rebuild the old one for a few thousand.  Just looked up when I bought my 4600 Hesston, 1981, Been rebuilt once and working good.  About 12,000 bales a year.

Just looking at the numbers in the report.  If you read between the lines, things don't look as good as they want us to believe.  One example, sales were down in western Europe but up in Finland and Poland.  Now correct me if I'm wrong, but total sales of both those countries probably equal the sales of say Iowa?  Another point was that sales were down in Brazil, the biggest ag country in SA, although sales were up in Argentina which is also a big ag country but still not as big as the US midwest.  I think ol Marty should be called the MIC (moron in charge), which also is the first letters of micky, as in mouse, which sounds a lot like AGCO.

On nightbly business report they had an expert saying AGCO was not a household name but was a good stock to watch as they are claiming to increase sales 20% next year. I guess we know how that will go!!

For the record, I am very glad they are expanding their facilities at Jackson, MN. I only wish they were planning to produce a product that I would allow on my farm.

   Well, the 205b we have is a good machine so far.  If I stay with Agco I would prefer the yellow if they don't bring back the orange option.  The cvt is great to operate plus the fuel savings is tops.  Still hoping there will eventually be some postive changes that will satisfy the orange crowd some how.

Positive changes are coming! The dealer I purchased my Kubota from told me that Kubota is going up in horsepower, maybe this year introducing a row crop in the 150+ HP category. Also, redesigned Versatile FWA coming in less than a year, they have hinted that it might even have CVT. Those who have seen the new 4WD Versatiles are quite impressed. Largest cab in industry and sleek design. I would put these 2 companies against AGCO any day with the product line coming - except the Gleaner line - which is still not part of the thought train of current upper management. They are kind of renegades and highly successful!

  I don't have a problem with a red tractor if the decal would say Agco, but I would rather have an orange one if there was a choice.  The MF name being forced on everything is the problem when it all should say Agco whatever the color.  As far as a Kubota,  I have a NH TL100 that is a great utility tractor and would have no problem staying with a blue machine in that hp range.  MF is the least likely of all brands that I would purchase before and now that they want to force it, is a bold move.  I see some hesston dealers that advertise the pics of balers, which are MF red, but do not all have the mf decal.  Not sure what is all going on, unless some dealers are covering up those decals or pealing them off.  As one dealer said this will take a whole generation of farmers to accept the MF name and line after the bad reputation they have aquired through the 80's and beyond.  Yes the orange,red, and yellow are basically the same machine,  but taking a name with a shaky reputation in NA and saying this is what you guys need is a tough sell.  Keep those decals off the Gleaners for sure.

I was recently browsing some Great Plains literature and came upon their corporate mission statement. Included in it was the statement "To Delight our Customers". Translation to the German dictator: "Ve have the dumbest customers in the vorld in the US, They von't listen to me vhen I tell them vhat to buy, on top of that these freaken fools think they need to buy this outdated combine called a Gleaner. They just don't understand how those of us elites from Europe operate! In the end, I vill get them straightened out, or force them to watch endless MF videos!"

But redline, you DO like their products and you WILL allow one on your farm because it will do MARVOLOUS things like blend in with your tomatoes! That's what the AGCO ceo is telling you guys! Gosh why can't you just believe him and understand in his life-changing product that is way better then anything you ever wanted.
