Talking to a guy about a higher hour AC 8550 and he warned about whether the pillow block bearings have been changed. Anyone have any info on them. Exactly where are they on the unit. Any advice appreciated.

I have never seen factory installed pillow block bearings as part of a tractor. Could be used for some type add-on. Pillow block bearings are available at any bearing supply.
