I just received a used wd 45 manifold that i bought through E-BAY. The manifold was advertised as a good useable manifold removed from a running tractor. When I unwrapped it I found rust holes completely through the casting. Would you guys consider this a good useable manifold? It was advertised as nonreturnable.

By no means is a manifold with holes in it useable, this is theproblem with buying thru E-bay. Not all sellers will put worn-out parts for sale there, but many do. Hope you didn't pay to much for it. Manifolds are best replaced with new, or thru a private seller here on Forum, who know's what they have and would not sell if unuseable.

I think I would send them an email and explain the situation. An honest seller would take it back. The key word being "honest".

Even though it was advertised as non-returnable, I would email a guy a picture of the hole.  I would include a friendly note saying that I was disappointed that this was a useless manifold, and ask if he would issue a refund.  I like to believe that honest mistakes can happen.  Maybe he will make it right and refund your money.  Maybe he will email you back and call you a liar and a fraud--at which point I would forget it.  You have absolutely nothing to lose.

That reminds me.  I bought an armature lathe on ebay once.  When I got it, I noticed that it was missing the "chuck" to hold the shaft.  I emailed the seller a picture of the missing part, and asked if she knew anything about it.  Well, she found it in a tool box.  She apologized profusely and sent it out overnight.

If he doesn't make good on it then leave negative feedback but don't let it drag out because some sellers will do that until the time lapses and you can no longer leave feedback, I had that happen once. Tell him to refund immediately or neg. feedback.

Non returnable doesn't mean it isn't!  Contact ebay, start a case.  "We're sorry there's a problem with your purchase. You have 45 days after you buy an item to open a case."
On an ebay page, go up to the right hand corner.  There, click on the Customer Support.  Go down to 'Resolution Center'.  When that opens up, just go through the steps.  You want to check 'I received an item that does not match the seller's description.'.  ebay will refund your money, even if the person who sold it to you won't.  They must get their money from them though I would imagine.  I have had to do that once myself.  It works!!

I would certainly send a message, with photo, with an explanation to the effect of what you've seen... and if possible, have it CC'd your email address.  If the seller doesn't respond within 48hrs, send another message, include the contents of your message, and indicate that you haven't seen a response, but if they DID respond, please re-send the response so that you won't have to take it to the next-level of process.

If they don't capitulate with decency, file your feedback and grievance, and make Ebay earn their keep.

A GOODused manifold would be non-returnable
A JUNK manifold with holes that is not servicable is a fraud.
Offer option : Either make it right or I file a complaint and stop payment or give bad feedback .
