Recent events and circumstances have given AGCO of North America a golden opportunity to make a big impact in this market. Allis-Chalmers Energy has been bought out by another company. This would seem to make the Allis-Chalmers name and logo available to any interested party. We also are hearing about AGCO opening a new production facility somewhere in the US in the near future. Given the current state of our economy, imagine the media attention and it's impact that would occur if they announced a "Rebirth of an American Industrial Icon. Allis-Chalmers", at the grand opening of the new plant. The US is starving for this type of news right now.

This would mend the rift with the "Orange Family" and get them charged to buy new equipment. New job creation would be celebreted by local, state and probably even the national government.  This as a win-win situation. But the moment is now.

You are absolutely right, Tom. It's that type of market buzz that gets the attention of investors.

Nope, not really. Seeing as the real Allis Chalmers died in 1985 and nobody really knows who they are anymore, it won't change the stock price.

I believe the only reason AGCO would buy the ACE name and logo would be to bury it forever ; to resurrect it would be great , but unfortunalty people always remember the bad\ worst things that happen ; job loss ,  bankruptcy and folding is AC,S HAUNTED PAST ; just an opinion though; AGCO,s their own company now with the mighty MF leading the way , OMG

If you go to Allis Chalmers Energy website, They are referring to this as a merger. No were in that can I find were they are going to stop using the Allis Chalmers brand or logo.

There is no guarantee the logo would be for sale but money talks.  Usually when somebody is taken over, the idea is to eventually consolidate under one name for simplicity.
I don't see the point of a whole line of equipment but if they offered an orange AC version of the tractor through either the MF or Challenger dealer it would be a win/win.

Why do you say it is Chinese?  It is a publicly traded company based in the US.

I think they only obtained permission to use it. I don't know, but I would assume some money changed hands in the process.
If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!
