I need a T04B90 turbo for my d-21 I found one that the guy says is an aftermarket one for gm vehicles but the model # is T04B90 and it is considerably cheaper than one for the 21 do you guys think that it would be the same one, it looks like the right one but you tell me based on what I have told you, Thanks, Dustin

this is an actual air research to4b it was bought for a preformance upgrade kit for gm vehicles and the guy now wants to sell it with alot of the other stuff

I remember reading on a couple of forums when I was looking for a T04b80 for my 7000 that people liked it for 350 small blocks, so it is possible that the T04b90 is also used for gas engines and exact same turbo as your tractor needs, maybe reclocked for the oil outlets to work right. If that's the case, be careful and make sure you can reclock it without breaking off any bolts. If you can get the part number off of it and get it to a garret dealer, they should be able to give you more details.

I think the 301 turbo has a smaller exhaust housing and compressor housing to account for the lower volumetric flow. Without a map for the two turbos, it's hard to say how much they differ, but generally, the 90 is going to made to flow more air on both sides. Not sure if the air ratio is different or not.

You need the 90, the 80 fits the 301 engines, a 90 on a 301 would take to long to spool up. watch out for exhaust elbow mount, some are just a clamp method while the tractors requires ex. turbine housing to have 4 bolt connection for the elbowto bolt to.

Should work. Chevy never used air research on their trucks. They used ihi turbos made in Shelbyville, Illinois. I've been working their for over 15 yrs. You can always use your turbine housing and elbow.

If the tag actually says TO4B90 AND the exhaust housing A/R number is .96, I'd say use it. It will need to have the center section and compressor housings rotated, but that's easily done.

Just be careful when loosening the clamp bolts around the exhaust housing. I took my old turbo apart and every one of them snapped off. I didn't soak them, as I needed a new exhaust housing at the least, but just be careful, they broke pretty easily.

It is a brand new turbo and the guy says the tag says it is a borg warner part # 313099 model t04b90 and .96 AR
