Woke up to 25 degrees below 0 this morning here in ND. Thank God the wind is not blowing------yet. If, or when it picks up, we've got about 8" of fresh snow just waiting to be blown around, and we'd get wind chills of about a zillion below. Got the one-ninety XT warming up for chores, and it is one of them days where letting the clutch out almost kills the engine, even with the transmission in neutral. Darrel

I'll probably regret saying this, but we have had a mild winter so far in Maine. Nothing even approaching zero and we usually get our share of
-30 deg. nights. But winter isn't half over yet. My wood supply is, though. Poor planning. Bob@allisdowneast |

On the transmission, one thing I have started doing on my 7000 is putting a magnetic oil pan heater on the transmission oil pan to help with shifting (it has a wet clutch, no dry clutch to release) and get the oil somewhat thinner for the hydraulic pump and transmission bearings. It seemed to help quite a bit on the cold Ky mornings, but they probably aren't quite anything like a cold ND morning lol.

Eldon, I wouldn't milk cows in 100 above, much less -25. You still getting lots of snow out there in WA?

Well the weather man (chicken littles) called for 10 inches today....we got 3. Temps are climbing, 34 right now and supposed to rain the next three days or so with temps around 40s and lows around 34....I can live with that! All snow should be gone in 3 or 4 days.

Hurst, I've given some consideration to putting a magnetic heater on the tranny, but I've already got one on the engine oil pan, so between that and the engine lower rad hose heater, I don't think my extension cord could handle another heater. Power company would love me though, Darrel

The first year I had my 200, my son got his truck&gooseneck trailer stuck in a snowdrift. I hooked the 200 on and pulled him out without even engaging the PD. It was about -2 that day.
