I looked at a 190XT yesterday that has suitcase weights on the front. I think it is the first time I have seen them on a 190XT. Was it an option, is it aftermarket, or were they available on a later tracyor and someone has put them on this? I didn't get great pictures of the mount, but it looks like it was made for the tractor. The serial number is in the early 11000 range in case anyone wants to know.

"Looks" like the bracket and weights from a 200. The bracket would bolt right on the XT

What is that powercrater engine decal all about on the grill? Nice looking grill too.

I noticed the power crater sticker. Owner wasn't home so I didn't hear it run or drive it. It looks clean and straight, obviously been repainted. Has series III stickers on it too, so maybe the owner just bought a bunch of Allis stickers. My brother is thinking about getting it, if we look at it again we'll probably take a trailer in case it runs okay and stays in gear. It also has pie weights. All the weight along with 18.4-38 rears(and duals) makes me a little nervous about the running gear but maybe it has been updated.

Is it a gasser? If yes, that may explain the power-crator sticker. The grill, rear pie weights, front weights and 38 duals are worth quite a bit. 11xxx sn makes it a 1966, like me. Can't see much from pics but if the rest of the tractor is as clean as what I see, it would be hard to pass up if the price is right.

It is a diesel, it is clean. I can see a few spots that have had some oil buildup, mainly hydraulic pump and couplers. Probably nothing major on the pump, and needs to have the 60 year old couplers replaced. It looks like whoever did the front weights wanted it to look nice, so probably anything else that was done is going to be correct. Funny thing about the 38s, if we get this one it will be three of them with 38s.
If we get it I will get some better pictures up. Ted Edited by TedN - Yesterday at 5:28pm |

See how it steers, should be able to turn the steering wheel with one finger. Take it for a drive, 3rd gear, lock the left brake and turn the wheel hard left first in low range a full circle then switch to high range. Do the same to the right. If it surges as it turns then that’s a possible problem in the pump if all fluid levels are full. This also test the brakes. This is how I figured out that I had pump issues and it required a full rebuild. Verified later with gauges but this is good field test. I do like the front weight set up.

I don't think suitcase weights were an option for any One-Ninety's or XT's. As Leon said, probably from a 200.

In that 1972 year range and newer, the 200-210-220's all had those 65 lbs suitcase weights available.

If the bracket is from a 200, it will have 6 or so square holes behind the weights to put the locks in for various numbers of weights. There's to many weights on there now to use locks. They look similar to the locks on a 70xx. 200's also offered a different bracket that accepted the 175-185 style weights. We had 2 200's, one with each style.

I count 12 of those 65 lb weights. I see no pinch clamps to hold them on. So, they will surely fall off at some point.

I thought the pinch clamps would interchange between hundred series and 7000 series, but they are a different p/n. The weights are different. Hundred series and their brackets hang square to the ground. 7000 series are at an angle. 65 lbs and 62 lbs are the weight.

I don't think they would fit my 7000, the weight bracket on it is angled. This one is vertical. Not sure if all 70xx have the angled bracket. I get the feeling this tractor may have been used for pulling at some point in time, but I can't see where anything has been done for weight reduction so maybe not. It is on a small hay farm, so anything it would have done recently wouldn't require traction. We are trying to go take another look at it early next week.
