Used to easily source kits for rebuild, or exchange units readily available. Still so?
I have a "Huber" reversing fan on the 11-B tractor needing service, but it's mechanical and frozen in place. No parts available for those any longer I've found.

Reman thru Horton still prominent so is on the way. Kit was over $400, complete assembly with Warranty $650, Exch. Need a at least 20t Shop press and three Specialty tools for the Horton series, Not worth the hassle.

Think the last one I rebuilt was about $70.00 for the kit which included seals, bearings, and retaining rings. Can't remember but think the friction surfaces were there also and it was an OEM Horton kit. That was for a 3406 B, or C Caterpillar engine but a Cummins NTC-400 was near the same price. Never have worked on anything newer.

Photos, FINALLY!
![]() Sitting on 5Gal bucket. ![]() Prior to reinstall. Used 1/2" Polyester Rope in a figure 8 Harness pattern, from Frontal no pulley area to rear belt region to drop in from Top. Two Studs barely visible in Photo are lower mount hole fasteners. ![]() ![]() Edited by DMiller - 7 hours 22 minutes ago at 6:43am |

They must still be heavy. That was the hardest part; the encumbrances, and dead weight hanging. Used to have two guys with a 2X4 over shoulders to support the weight and another guiding/running the fasteners. Haven't done one in a while now but the gantry, forklift, or skid steer comes into play for any of that lifting any longer.

Laid across Intake tubing, Used a 1/2" polyester Figure Eight Rope 'Sling' with a loop in final knot as a Handle, lowered down by hand to the Studs from Above engine nose and started nuts there, then added bolts. About two hours calculating and removing that which needed to come off, about hour and half to reinstall. Just under 50lbs.
