Not me but my grandmother had both of hers replaced. Been 15 years or so and she's doing great. She just turned 88 and still grows her garden and cuts grass and pretty much whatever else she wants

Wife had hers done a week ago Tuesday. Was supposed to come home Wednesday. Ended up staying in the hospital until Friday, which was a good thing. The pain blocker wore off Wednesday afternoon while still in the hospital, so they were able to manage her pain better than if she was home. The fancy ice water machine has been here best friend. My insurance is covering home health so that is a big help. Nurse comes once a week, and therapist comes every other day. She gets around well with a walker, and can even do short walks with a cane.

New left knee January 2023. New right knee January 2025. Wished I had done it sooner. After the 4 week period had it whipped both times BUT you have to do the rehab work! Good luck!

My wife had hers done November 18. It was done outpatient at 9 AM and we were on our way home at 3 PM. She had to go up and down a set of four stairs before she was released.
The next two days were tough. Quite uncomfortable and used pain meds, but by day four, she was controlling pain with Tylenol. She was getting around with a walker day two and three but only using a cane after that. She did PT for three weeks and had a bit of a setback at PT (I think they pushed her too hard), but was released from PT after her 3 week checkup. The only thing that bothers her now is trying to kneel. She is hoping to have her other knee done this fall. My only advice to anyone would be to go to a big orthopedic practice to have it done. We travelled 3 1/2 hours to Syracuse for her surgery. They have very up-to-date equipment. The surgeon who did her surgery specializes in knees (he was doing 5 knee replacements that day). He only does knees. They have other specialists who do only hips, shoulders, etc. We have a local orthopod who does everything. I hear good things and horror stories from his patients.
