S.N. 1988, what year would that be? And lastly, the nose cone on a 220, is that made out of tin like the 200 or is that a cast-iron nose cone?

...and the axle pivot block is one HUGE chunk of cast...the 210 used a hollowed out block and a tin surround.

I've seen some 72 220's and they had the hollow front support like the 210.

I don't know at what S/N that took place, but yes, the later 220's had the hollow front support like a 210.  Cost savings measure. You buy MORE front end weights for an 8 bottom plow.   S/n 1988 is an early 1970 model year.

I will have to look at mine tonight.  It is 26 from the end i believe.  Its still new to me and I didn't know about this difference. It had the suitcase weight bracket on it when i got it instead of the block style weights. It does have crank driven oil pump and larger oil pan.

I purchased a 220 in fall of 23 and have redoing it and getting close to having it finished and my daughter wanted it to pull with so it's her's now.
I was told it come from Iowa and had a cab on it and I don't remember
the serial number off hand but supposedly it's 200th tractor from the
end of production of the 220 and it also has a 210 bolster on it.
