For reference, this was my Dad's old truck. His "new" truck is also F-150, about a 1996 with around 60,000 miles on it. He passed nearly 10 years ago. Someone called a few days back offering to do us a favor and take the 87' off our hands for $200 to $300........called it a parts truck. Other extreme I've seen is nice, restored, tricked out versions online for $30K or so. This one probably somewhere in the middle to lower 1/3rd. But that is me and I'm only right about everything most of the time. ![]() |

In these parts…,well in these parts pretty much anything of that vintage is rusted to nothing frame and all……but they say anything that runs and drives is $1000. Adjust up and down from there. Without checking it out in person I wouldn’t guess. Battery, tires, A/C works, trailer hitch, brakes….?

Gas? If everything works, and the paint altho fading is not some obnoxious color, probably about 3-4 thousand.
Diesel? About $1,500-$2,000 more. Edited by Lars(wi) - 3 hours 42 minutes ago at 4:05pm |

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Problem is going to be the age... Your pushing 40 years old... 4 x 4 and 4 speed are nice ( thats what most would be looking at as "parts truck" ) , but around Central Illinois you would be in the $2500. range at best.
