Finally have a joystick and everything mounted, looking to plumb. I read through this:
https://www.allischalmers.com/forum/joystick-install-with-pictures_topic138644.html?KW%20 And think I understand open center and the concept correctly. If I replace the union part "2" with 2 90s, then fluid would flow from pump through line "3", through elbow to loader valve in the red line. Then out of the yellow going to an elbow and line "7" . I have the power beyond plug, and this green line going back to tank. For rebustness sake is like the return to go through the filter, can I just do a T at part "15"? Or would it be better to just Tee off the drain plug? |

Don't know if you saw my post on adding a joystick and loader to my 190XT, but here it is in case it helps. There are lots of pictures. It works good. |

Can't believe I missed that post!
Ended being almost exactly what I'm doing. But I decided to tap into the drain plug for return instead of at the filter. It's not as pretty, but I think it'll be simpler than dealing with the hard lines at the filter. |

This site has so much history, it is hard to find it all. You also have to do an advanced search to change to Any Date. Otherwise, you only get the last 6 months. Always do an advanced search. Sometimes I go to Google and do a search there and it finds stuff on this site.
Glad you have it working. The devil is always in the detail. |

Finally got everything hooked up, but now my rear remotes and arms aren't working.
I split the lines where you did. Plumped to the "in" (p) port, then from the "out" (N) port to the rest of the lines. I plumed the tank port (T) directly to the sump. The loader was working fine, but the rear arms were not.

Well that sucks. I did not have that problem after hooking up everything. What kind of Joystick are you using? I had to also add a Power Beyond adapter to my Prince joystick. Could that be it? Maybe you should post some pictures and details of your joystick so we can see what you did. I am not a hydraulic expert by any means but there are guys on here that are.

I did more research. Even though it's an open center valve I need a power beyond plug? I think that's it. I'll try it. Just means I need to fix it WHEN it's cold, not BEFORE it's cold. Ha.

I went back and looked at the specs on my joystick and it is open center too. So, yes, I think you need the Power Beyond adapter. I paid $28 for mine but it now costs $67 from Surplus Center! I believe that Power Beyond will route the hydraulic fluid to your rear 3pt so it will raise up and down when not using the joystick. I added a Joystick and Grapple combination system so I got a 3rd set of hoses for the grapple. Not sure if you have that combo or not. Glad I bought my Joystick many years ago though. That same model is double what I paid 3 years ago! Good luck. If this doesn't work, provide more details and I am sure someone can help you. Git R Done.
