I found a 8070 with 42 inch rear tires on it and am wonder if any one knows about if they are good or bad to have? If they put more or less strain on the powertrain and wonder if it would be ok to have 16.9 26 on the front? (has 18.4 26 on it now) Any help on my questions would be much appreciated. I would really appreciate if I could get info and tips on what to look for. Never been around a 8000 series or fwa so I'm somewhat clueless other than engine and transmission. Thank you Daehler. |

Usually the front and rear working diameter ratio has to match that of the drive train, else you break the drive train. Changing the fronts to 16.9 from 18.4 IF 18.4 is the proper size for the 42" rears would be too much change. I've heard to prevent power hop you want the fronts to be just a hair faster than the backs, but just a hair. I don't have any information on the 8070 and its owner's manual should be very clear about what tires match and what break it.
