I am considering purchasing a wide front d14 that seems pretty clean but I noticed it has 14-24 industrial tires on the rear. I was not aware this was a tire option in this size. Tire options are limited are there any options for buying wheels and tires from other equipment?I am looking to use this tractor for a preservation / pasture clipping and maybe some garden work. Is there any model specific problems i should look for. Thanks in advance

Standard "FARM" tires were 12 x 26 diameter.... I dont know about the D14, but many industrial tractors came with 14.9 x 24 tires ... we have that on a CASE backhoe.. Tires are readily available for 24 inch rims.... the 26 are more difficult to find.... you maybe lucked out !

Welcome to the site. ![]() As someone else said, 26" rims were factory. Used rims/ tires from an older combine will work, but won't be PA rims... Other than the usual fluid leaks, check to see if it slips out of 3rd gear, when it crests a hill, and starts to go downhill...

How would these old tractors do for casual fall bushhogging with a 5-6 ft pull type shredder/bushog?

Absolutely great! I use a model 160 brush hog trail type mower behind the d14 with no issues every year.

A pull type that has its own lift cylinder would do well behind it. The tractor has a single hydraulic coupler at the rear to plug into. That would be the preferred type mower versus 3 point lift if it has a aftermarket 3 point system on it. Then you would have to add several hundred pounds of weights on the front end to keep it on the ground. Is it 6 or 12v? If you know the serial number we can tell you what year it is. 1957-1958 were 6v, 1959-1960 were 12v. Power steering was also an option in 59-60. Neat tractor, I am going through mine now fixing a few things on a one owner tractor I bought last year. Replaced the brakes and seals in that area last winter. Good little utility tractor for what your planning to do with it.
