I had trouble with the 8010 this spring planting no high side on the power director finished planting with backup tractor and just getting back to fixing it. When I shift up it blows the 15a hyd. alt fuse. I have checked the wiring and kick down switch on the clutch and found nothing wrong. Checked solenoid and got 1.3 ohms which I would guess is very low, with the solenoid disconnected I can upshift without blowing the fuse. The solenoid is NLA. I haven’t called about a salvage and was wondering what normal ohm reading should be to make sure I don’t by one like I have. Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you

Google says a typical solenoid has a resistance of 20-40 ohms.
I'd guess yours is shorting out, as you pretty much proved by not blowing the fuse when you disconnected the wiring from the solenoid and didn't blow the fuse.

Found a new solenoid at Heitman tractor. They said they had 3-4 left and when they’re gone that’s it.

There's likely a brand name and Mfg parts number on the solenoid. Probably can't read it on a 40+ year old that's been in use, but those news ones should have readable numbers.

If memory serves correct the early power director spool/coil assy was replaced with a coil and spool that were 2 piece. The latter coil is available. part # 79028135

The one for early serial numbers has 2 prongs that plug in 1 black and 1 white and goes in from the bottom up. The newer one looks to go in from the top and I believe has 3 wires.
When the new one gets here and I get it changed I will check for part numbers on both of them and post.
Someone may be able to cross numbers to find what CNH part is the same.
I didn’t put 2&2 together till now but the tractor would drain the battery from time to time if it wasn’t used for a while and I couldn’t find the cause so just started disconnecting battery cable if it wasn’t going to be used for a while. I’m betting the solenoid was the cause.
