    Posted: 10 Jul 2025 at 11:07am
For years I have thrown all correspondence from the USDA in the trash, surveys and all.2 weeks ago I tossed a packet I assumed was a survey.  Today I got a call at work asking me to do the "cattle" survey over the phone. Not a chance. Anybody else get a cattle survey?

Haven’t gotten a cattle survey but I could give them a quick answer “I don’t have any cattle, but I do have several hats.” I get the USDA surveys and occasionally fill one out.

I was suspicious of what went down. Receiving a survey was no surprise but yesterday I got a call from "the agency" at work, not my cell phone. The very nice lady wanted me to do the survey over the phone. I would never do that so I told the lady their survey was probably in the 'pile' at home and I would look for it and sent her off.

next call, say 'I'm too damn busy TRYING to be a farmer, so please YOU come out and count them, BTW they're free ranging somewhere, I'll leave the barn light on so you can find your way back.'

the other reply, 'I already sent it in, 7 ,hmm, no 8 days ago'.
