I was reading another topic and I heard Byron WC in SW Wi say that you could get a Valtra in different colors. Well I decided to check out their website and you can get it in any color you want and with any engine or transmission you want. This got me thinking that the whole thing about AGCO not being able to paint tractors different colors or put an AC, Oliver, MM, or White logo on them was just their way of giving all of us old tractor fans the middle finger. Here's their website see for yourself.
http://www.valtra.us/default.asp Valtra à la Carte![]() The Valtra à la Carte system offers great support for customers who want to tailor their tractors. From the tires up, customers can select suitable equipment to support their work while monitoring the cost. The costs incurred for the tractor are solely for the solutions desired and the customer’s own choices.

Yup. AGCO has yet to give a good reason for dropping orange AGCO tractors. Valtra is a big loaded gun against their primary argument. Nothing they've said makes any sense.

I must agree one hundred percent. I don't see why AGCO can't have a tractor plant in the US. I might digress a little bit but New Holland makes a American tractor and a European one or at least the ones for Europe look different than the ones is America.

Daehler. Generally they build larger units in the US and smaller in Europe. The European units generally run fatter tires (less row cropping) and extra lights. They often have different brakes. Larger US tractors are sent to Europe with modifications for the market.

Not only can you get a Valtra in different colors, but you can get whatever engine, tranny, hydraulics, tires, etc you want on it too. Better than Burger King. Also noticed that they have had the color thing for over 20 years now. AGCO? Your answer to this????? We can't get an orange tractor, but you can build a Valtra in unlimited colors, whatever the customer wants you say. OK, I want mine to be frigging ORANGE and say AGCO on it. WHAT?! NO CAN DO, HUH?

Sounds like more of the "The American farmer doesn't know what he wants. We will tell him what he wants." It didn't work for Deutz. Richenhagen just sounds like an arrogant German to me... |

I guess I have another question. Where is the board of directors on this?

The orange would be great, but who would want that with the MF badge on the hood?

I suspect the BoD is looking at the stock price, which is around $51 and the reports from the AGCO head office. I seriously doubt if any of them watch this forum, too bad. I know one of the directors was a member of the MTD company, an outfit that seems to have never quit looking for a way to cheapen the product.

I looked at AGCO's website and some of its vids about its history. No mention of Allis Chalmers and most of the narrators are European. Can't they have americans make the vids. Just seems like a totally European company today. Richenhagen can barely speak coherent English. They brag that 60% of their sales are in the "americas" and they hold 60% of the market share in Brazil. I'll bet they hold under 30% in the US. If Deere gets their act together they will take over the market in Brazil and force Agco to start listening to North American needs again, or go broke. Their lack of respect for heritage brands is just sad. Deere and IH are proud of their heritage, even though they don't have as much to brag about as AC, which truly helped build the infrastructure of this country.

Yes ACmowerguy, and IH is owned by an European company, Fiat. Shows that not every executive from Europe has his head up his exhaust pipe!

Come on guys, as the defenders of AGCO will say.
The defenders don't get it either and side with AGCO when AGCO tells you what you want to buy. Even with the Deutz legacy the defenders don't get it and they never will just like Richenhagen.
