Is there brand of paint that is good at hiding hairline cracks in drywall/plaster/stucco, and remains somewhat ‘flexible’ after it dries, to hide a crack that may develop later on?
Repainting a bathroom, removing the ‘paneling’ on the lower half, patching that mess, then wanting to eventually topcoat floor to ceiling, all with one color. House has the 1930’s lath & plaster, that will not be removing.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I’m no painter but I would use spackling to fill the hairline cracks a topcoat with latex/acrylic paint. Latex forms a film that is somewhat flexible but it is quicker to peel.

The best that I have used many times, is Roman   pro-999    Home Depot sells it here, not sure about all locations.  Sherwin Williams does as well I think.  A good primer for over drywall patches, wallpaper removal junk, and existing wallpaper.
