The pedestal with the hubs is my original, the other one is the replacement I bought from forum member mike, both from WD's,same casting #'s but cast in different spots.Don't know if I want to lower the front of my tractor that much. ![]() ![]() |

Welcome to the Forum. Odd that they would have the same casting number unless the extra piece at the bottom is separate. The difference in height might not be that noticeable once you get it installed.

Something don't add up. I think yours has a spacer added at the bottom. Will have to look at mine.

The short one is NORMAL. Yours ain't. It even has a longer shaft to match the added in spacer. maybe a Thompson Hi-Crop accessory ??

My original intention was just to do a swap, my wobbly loose, for Mikes much tighter pedestal.
Now I am curious. Going to do some further disassembly on the long one to see whats up.If the parts are not to worn maybe swap the spindle blocks. I was going to take that one apart to see how bad of a job it would be to put in a new lower seal. Practice before taking the one I want to use apart. Maybe I have a super rare million dollar WD. I wish. |

Thompson cane tractor conversions were wide fronts & factory high crops were typically either single front wheel or wide fronts. I've never heard of a tricycle high crop. Your original part looks factory...kind of a mystery?? Kip

I'm throwing darts in the dark here: Is it possible that someone at sometime had reason the raise the front end and made a longer shaft and the spacer???

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

If it had 13.6 x 38 rear tires it would level it out.

If you're into pulling this tractor, your hitch height will be different!

So, if you can find the parts book for a 33 picker, if the book is new enough, these parts should be in there.

My Dad bought this tractor used in the mid 60's. I was 7 in 1965. My older brother remembers it had a loader and plow when Dad got it delivered. If it ever had a picker mounted, it was before then. The loader and plow got sold at some time and the WD spread manure, hay work and pulled wagons. It was the first tractor I ever drove with Dad beside me, and the first tractor I got to do work with, raking hay and nearly freezing in one direction and cooking the other way with a heathouser pulling a 2-row stalk cutter.
