I am putting new rings on a WC and when putting back together I see there is no offset on rod too bearing.  Does that mean they can be installed either way or is there a right and wrong ?

You've got to get the piston pins positioned correctly or you will have a groove cut into the sleeve from the end of the piston pin dragging !!!!!!!
