UPDATE- it is sold!!
I have for sale a Front pedistal for a WD. I put a wide front on my WD some years ago. It was a good tight steering narrow front. Located near Deep River Iowa. I can load it with the WD and loader probably. I am asking $50 CASH for it at pick up. ![]() Thanks Mike Townsley Edited by allischalmerguy - 21 May 2025 at 10:30pm |

I believe the WD and WD45 pedesals can be interchanged.

I believe the WD and WD45 are the same. A WC will bolt in, but is lighter.

The WD pedestal is SOLD. Thanks John for coming to pick it up today. I enjoyed my visit with you. I hope you get it installed on the long time family farm WD and it improves the steering!

The 45 pedestal is heavier. Has more iron in it. They interchange fine.

Some free advice (that is probably worth what you paid for it!).
I found the easiest way is to remove the left frame rail (left is easier so you don't have to mess with the belt pulley). After you get it loose, drive a chisel in to separate the frame rail.
Before you put a lot of pressure on the 8 bolts at the front of the frame rails, rap them a few times with a 3 lb. (or bigger) hammer to break some of the bond. They have probably been on there for close to 70 years and I have seen a lot of them broken off. It looks like a lot easier job than it actually is. |
