Hi All,
A lot of you wonder how to change the size of your pictures to place them on these forums. I have been posting the easiest way to do picture resizing on some of the forums.  I guess I need to start a message in each of the forums and tell this story.

The easiest way to resize pictures for posting is this.

Go to:
http://www.irfanview.com/
Download and install the software.  I also download the Add Ons/Plug-ins also.  This program is FREE and it is exceptional.  I have been using it for YEARS...

After installation, browse to your pictures and open them in IrfanView.

Go up to 'File' and then down to 'Save'.  SAVE the picture as [your file name]a or b or c or whatever.  This will make a copy of your original picture.  This is so that you don't loose your original.  OOPS, I have done that before.

Now go up up to the top bar and choose, 'Image'
Go down to 'Resize/Resample'

In the next window, you can play around and do what ever you want to your pic and a lot of the time I use ' Half ' on the right side of the window.
Make sure that the box for [] Preserve aspect ratio (proprotional) is checked.  It is on the lower left side.

This is the easiest that you can change the size of a picture that I know.  This program is worth its weight for sure!!

Now just choose the ' Insert Image ' Icon on the top of a ' Create New Message '.  Go down to the bottom of the next window and choose the ' Browse...' button.  This will take you to your Computer and you just need to find where you have the 'new' picture saved and just click on it and choose 'open' and then click on the 'upload' button to upload it into the message and to the site.  Then click 'OK'.

Thats all there is to it!!  After a couple of times, you will be a pro at it too...

The easiest way is to up load your pictures from the camera to a site that sizes them automatically. I have used fotki for years for that and a bunch of other reasons that take the guess work out.

I quit looking at the pictures in detail  that are sized so I have to fiddle around to see the whole picture.

I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Pull up your picture, goto edit picture, select predefined width and height and then select the appropriate size. I usually save as a different name first so as I don't screw up the original.

I use Fast Image Resizer.  It's a simple drag and drop and it's done.
