Hi all,
Quick update, I have installed a starter motor, put a six volt solenoid on it and a stud so I now use a push button to start instead of that horrible mechanical switch. I’ve had the magneto rebuilt. The carb was put on new by the previous owner.
I’ve only managed to start her once since the rebuilt magneto was put on and the timing checked.
I thought I’d take the carb off and clean it out, when I did the two inch pipe from the air filter was full of petrol. Surely that’s not right and what would be causing it ?
Any other advice on starting issues would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

if the FLOAT sticks in the carb, or the NEEDLE VALVE does not seat properly, then the bowl will OVERFLOW and run into the tube from the air cleaner.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

As Steve noted above, the float/needle obviously is leaking. Once that is fixed, my Model C much prefers having the throttle opened only about one or two notches above minimum idle setting.
