From what little I know, I believe it's a #8 disc. I had a #10 disc and donated it to Dale's museum in Paris, IL. The #10 was a little wider and heavier. The present position it is in is considered "transport" mode so you could pull it around the barnyard (or gravel road) without doing much damage. To get the gangs to pivot forward and backward you need to pull up on the levers (toward the front of each tongue). If you do this when hooked up to the tractor, then all you have to do is either drive ahead (or back up depending on whether you're moving the front or back gang) and the framework will move to allow for pitching the gangs forward/back for fieldwork. Hope this helps.

I believe that the disc models were 8, 9, and 10 respectively, The one I had was a No. 9

I have a 6 foot disc just like that, Dad got new with the 47C he first had.. Other than setting the angle of the gangs, the only other adjustment is how many cement blocks(or field rocks) you put in the tray. Charlie

The disc in the picture is a 6 ft. #9. Looks to be a pre 1950 model, since it has the spring loaded scrapers. Later ones had one piece scrapers.
