I need to pick up a timimg light. Needs to work on 6 volt systems. Any preferences? Don't mind buying a used one off ebay if the older ones are superior

Not sure about the 6 volt but I bought one at harbor freight and it wasn't very bright. Hard to see outside. Good luck

You can use a 12V car battery to power the timing light and the inductive pickup on the #1 plug wire of the vehicle to trigger it.
I have an older "Sun" timing light that works on 6VDC just fine. Not looking to sell it but it has been a good one as a recommendation.

This is what I have had to do as well. I bought a newer Innova 12V timing light and just drag separate 12V battery over next to the 6V tractor I'm working on to power the light. I'm honestly not sure if you can buy anything new that would work with 6V, so you may have no choice but to go the eBay route for an older used one.
