Ok, asking this question for an old friend of mine who reached out to me this morning, and myself, not having a C, I couldn't answer it. Relaying the question to the best of my ability with the information that he gave me. He's ordered what he referred to as an "anti-surge" spring that on one end, hooks into one of the holes in the throttle rod arm, and he doesn't know where the other end of the spring should anchor at. He thinks maybe at a hole in the generator bracket, but being it wasn't on there when he got the tractor, he's not sure. Anyone have some help, or a good picture of the carburetor and related area that would show this, or is it just a simple answer that is easy enough to figure out from. Thanks, Darrel

Either on a manifold bolt up or the block drain cock down.

The proper place for the long hook is the top manifold bolt forward of center. This will give proper tension if the governor is properly adjusted. However I've seen many different place with less than desirable results.
As mentioned the small hook goes in the hole in the carburetor link.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |
